Healthy Food?

Published by honestway under diet Edit This

Well, that last post The Road To Health, certainly got the ball rolling with regards to how the theme of this blog is going to unfold before your very eyes! So now, without further ado, lets move onto the first topic of discussion proper with regards to a living a healthy lifestyle.

Healthy Food

We all have a pretty good idea about what foods are healthy and which ones are not, so I may be going over old ground here by pointing out these good or bad foods, so I’ll save that chore for a later post. What I actually want to go into right here is the topic not of healthy food, but what makes healthy food unhealthy. By this I mean what goes into that apparently good, wholesome food that alters its characteristics at a level not readily apparent to the human senses.

By this I mean the external or environmental processes brought to bear upon the food we eat.

I can start with what might sound obvious but it is still generally overlooked when choosing some nice healthy looking fresh vegetables. They might look fresh and clean in their supermarket shelf compartments, but are those carrots, or those courgettes really as wholesome as they look? Chances are they are not, especially if they’ve come from what is known as an intensive farm, which is pretty much most of the farms that are in any western country.

There are many hidden dangers in food from these types of farms and these I’ll go into in more detail in my next post.

The Road To Health

Published by honestway under health Edit This

Hi again! Following on from my introductory post at Healthy Lifestyle, it’s time to start to prepare the groundwork for the coming series of health and wellbeing related articles. To start things off the, I want to give you an idea of where my passion for the subject of overall health comes from.

It began several years ago, after watching helplessly as friends and more recently my own father, who was an incredibly healthy person for his age, become ill and rapidly decline in health then eventually die of certain cancers that doctors were either ill-equipped or simply lacked the necessary knowledge to diagnose in time for any remedial treatment to be carried out. This spurred me on to learn as much as is possible about the possible and probably causes of this disease, which led me to making links with other “modern” diseases.

So here in this blog, you‘ll learn that there are many peripheral contributing factors that also affect a person’s health and can have devastating repercussions when not addressed, no matter how fit and healthy a person may be.

What will probably surprise many is that the quality of diet has a far more profound impact upon a person’s health than just about any other factor. Environmental factors also have their effect, but even when you think you’re eating a healthy, balanced diet, you could still be doing yourself harm without even realizing it.

So I’ll be uncovering just what these underlying factors are in future posts and delving deeply into what effects they can have on a person’s overall state of health.

See you next post!

As someone with a great, passionate interest in the mechanics of a body’s health I have spent many years researching and learning a wide variety of health related topics so have a wealth of knowledge ready to impart upon the world in the form of this blog.

So if you also share this interest in your own health and that of your family, you’ll get quite a lot from my own, straight talking, no nonsense approach to this fascinating subject. That’s because there is so much more to a person’s health than just getting the right amount of exercise and eating a healthy diet.

These gems of knowledge and information will be revealed to you in the coming articles that I will publish here on this blog, along with my own reasoning and theories added to the weight of already growing evidence to support this data.
